This policy explains what personal information Everest Charlotte FC (“the club,” “we,” “us”) collects when you use our website and services, how we use that information, and the choices you have. By using the site you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. If you sign in with Google we receive the basic profile fields Google shares.
- Profile data. Optional information you add yourself — jersey number, position, biography, profile photo.
- Activity data. Comments, poll votes, push-notification subscriptions, and similar interactions you make on the site.
- Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, user-agent, pages visited) and cookies necessary for the site to function and for keeping you signed in.
How we use information
- To run the site, keep you signed in, and show you the right content.
- To send the notifications you have opted in to (e.g. match alerts).
- To moderate comments and protect against spam and abuse.
- To understand aggregate usage so we can improve the experience.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
How we share information
We share information only with the service providers we need to run the site (database hosting, authentication, image hosting, push-notification delivery, error monitoring). Each of these providers is contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our members and the public.
Cookies
We use a small number of strictly-necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Your choices
- Access & correction. You can review and edit your profile information from your account page at any time.
- Notifications. Turn push notifications on or off from your device, or from the account page.
- Deletion. Email hello@ecfc.com to request deletion of your account and associated personal information.
Children
The site is intended for users aged 13 and over. For players under 18 registered in club programs, account creation and consent are handled separately by a parent or guardian as part of program enrollment.
Data retention & security
We keep personal information only as long as necessary to provide the services or as required by law. We use industry-standard security practices — encrypted connections, hashed passwords, and least-privilege access — but no system is perfectly secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site and our practices evolve. Material changes will be flagged on this page and, where appropriate, communicated directly to account holders.
